Join us for a 4-5 miles run.  This can be a run/jog/walk - so all are welcome. 

Parking ; Park in the parking lot or on the street.

 Please DO NOT park at the bank. This is subject to towing. 

Bring water, flashlight, and snacks that you may need.

EVERY OTHER SUNDAY AT 6:00 AM 

at Newman Park 

Join your fellow El Paso community members on a walk at the beautiful and iconic scenic drive. The road will be blocked off every Sunday from 6 am to 11 am so the people of El Paso can enjoy a relaxing morning walk .

White Sands Full Moon Hike

Tues, Sept 17th 2024 @6pm

• This event is hosted by WE HIKE at WSNP. 

•  Join us for a fun evening for a hike, sledding (optional) and some serious fun! We will wait for the FULL MOON and watch it rise with the stunning backdrop of White Sands - it's bound to be unforgettable. 

• If you are interested in the FULL MOON only, please let us know and you can join us after the hike at the Alkali Flats trailhead.

• Please bring snacks, water, chair or blanket.  There are no services or options to buy anything. Please be prepared. 

• Sept 17th seems like it's going to be a perfect blend of adventure, hiking and camaraderie, don't miss out on this opportunity.

• We will be meeting at the Alkali Flats trailhead to start the evening by 6:30pm. 

• Fees: Park fees for entrance. If you have a National Pass there will be no fees for entrance.

South Peak

Smugglers pass trailhead 

This will be the first of three hikes in the Franklin Mountain Peaks Series.

Please join us on an adventure that will take you from one side of the mountain starting at McKelligon Canyon over to Transmountain.

This is considered a difficult hike. Please know your ability and be cautious if you are afraid of heights because we will be doing some climbing.

We will meet at Smugglers Pass trailhead, then shuttle over to Mckelligon and then walk back to the cars.

Know your ability and please call ahead to make a reservation since there are limited spots available for this hike

Items needed: Water, 2 liters minimum. Sunscreen, a good hat for protection from the sun as there is no shade on the trail. Snacks are always good to have. Bring any medications you may personally need

Halloween Hike Bonfire and Ghost Stories

Roundhouse Trail 

Join us for a Fun filled evening that will include a .8 miles hike to the Bowen Ranch Roundhouse.

Here you will be greeted and get ready for some games, photo shoots, bonfire, music and more.

There is limited seating around the bon fire are so please consider bring a chair. The road is soft and you are welcome to bring drinks and snacks for yourself through the duration of the event.

This is a FREE event. Come enjoy and dress up in your best costume because we will have a costume contest, smore and more

Sierra De Cristo Rey

• Minimal walking 

• Let's work together to keep one of our favorite hiking spots clean and beautiful! This is a great opportunity for community engagement, and it's perfect for families. Whether you're an avid hiker or just love the outdoors, we welcome you to participate.

• What's Provided: Refreshments to keep you energized and hydrated

• Trash bags for the clean-up

• What to Bring:  Hat, sunscreen, personal items you may need.   

• Gloves (for your protection, optional but useful).  

• Litter picker-upper (optional but helpful!)

Trail Clean-up Hike and Bike

The Borderland Mountain Bike Association teamed up with WeHike Adventure to clear our North Hills trails of a number of blue spray painted arrows.

A special thanks to all participants and volunteers for their commitment, taking on this sprawled out challenge in quickly rising temperatures.

Please remind your friends to practice leaving no trace and respect our trails and natural open spaces. It is never okay to paint rocks. Remember the use of our trails is a privilege, and not a right.
